We are members of the AICPA Division for Firms, Private Companies Practice Section.
As members of this professional oversight group, we voluntarily submit to periodic inspections of our quality assurance process by our peers, complete continuing professional education requirements above regulatory mandated levels, and carry out other processes that help us ensure we are offering the best possible service and advice to our clients.
Membership in the AICPA requires a firm to undergo a peer review every three years. A peer review is an exhaustive review of our quality control standards and procedures by an independent reviewer approved by the AICPA.
The most recent peer review of Shultz Huber & Associates, Inc. was completed in 2023, and we earned the highest PASS designation under the program.
History
Our firm was founded as a partnership in 1969 and has grown to over 60 professionals and support staff. Charles E. Huber and Richard R. Shultz were two of the earlier partners within the firm.
Today, we are a full-service certified public accounting and business development firm with offices in Archbold, Bryan, Defiance, St. Marys, and Van Wert, Ohio. We serve a diverse clientele in a broad range of industries including construction, manufacturing, wholesale/distribution, real estate, professional service organizations, franchises, not-for-profit organizations, and retailers.

Tyson L. Stuckey
Managing Shareholder
Tyson is the firm’s managing shareholder and is responsible for the firm’s strategic direction and operations. That includes working with the shareholder group to set long-term and short-term goals and implementing strategies and initiatives as they relate to these goals. In addition, Tyson is a client service shareholder and is responsible for providing accounting, auditing and taxation services to business and their owners. He leads the firm’s valuation services, assisting business owners in determining a value for their company for succession planning, gifting, estate values, sales and mergers, and other purposes. Prior to joining Shultz Huber & Associates, Inc., Tyson was a manager at a big six accounting firm.

Barbara L. Kohnen
Shareholder
Barb is a shareholder with the firm and serves a wide variety of large and small clients with concentrations in construction, agriculture and manufacturing. Her practice includes consulting, financial reporting and tax planning.

Shareholder
Robin joined the firm in 1997 and is a shareholder. Her experience includes both the accounting and tax aspects of various business types, as well as financial planning. Stacey is a shareholder in the firm. She began her career with Shultz Huber & Associates in 1998. He also assists in the firm’s tax administration, which includes providing direction and support, ensuring team members have the knowledge, skills and resources to provide quality service to clients.

Vicki Boroff
Vicki joined the firm in 2016 as a human resource consultant. Prior to joining Shultz Huber & Associates, she worked in human resources in the retail sector for several years. Vicki provides small to medium businesses, especially those without an HR department, day-to-day assistance with compliance and employment issues including hiring, terminations, unemployment, workers’ compensation, investigations, labor relations and negotiations, training, employee handbooks, benefits and more.

Caleb Brinegar

Terry Melton
Terry is experienced in financial accounting as well as federal, state and local income tax areas. He has worked with clients in a wide variety of industries. Prior to joining Shultz Huber & Associates, Terry was on the audit staff of a big eight accounting firm. Prior to that, Terry served as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He has worked in a semi-retirement status since May 2015 and is a former shareholder of the firm.
